Recreational Adult Team Soccer, RATS, is a non-profit, Seattle-based adult recreational soccer league.
RATS was formed in 2012 by recreational soccer players and fans who desired a team focused league. RATS is operated by players and team managers: we know team needs, and if we don’t, let us know! RATS encourages team and player input in every aspect of its operation. We appreciate the hard work and devotion the many volunteer managers put into creating and maintaining their teams and value any feedback they provide.
Our inaugural spring 2012 season began with 15 women’s teams. We opened to co-ed in summer 2012 and began hosting men’s in fall 2013. We welcome adult teams to play in one of many divisions, from our highly competitive premier league to our enthusiastic beginner divisions as long as all players understand and appreciate that recreational soccer is about fitness, camaraderie, personal improvement, and having fun.
We don’t force teams to play on days they can’t play. However, due to holidays or division constraints, if we must schedule your game on a day your team doesn’t play, we will inform you and do our best to accomodate your team’s preferences.
We also understand that teams desire competitive, evenly matched games. We encourage interested teams to play a guest game to compare their skill level with teams in our current divisions. We respect division requests and don’t promote or relegate teams without notice.
