Who we are
Recreational Adult Team Soccer, RATS, is a non-profit, Seattle-based adult recreational soccer league.
RATS was formed in 2012 by recreational soccer players and fans who desired a team focused league. RATS is owned and operated by players and team managers: we know team needs, and if we don't, we want to hear about it! RATS encourages team and player input in every aspect of its operation.
Our inaugural spring 2012 season began with 15 women's teams. In just one year we've grown to 26 women's teams, at various skill levels, playing almost every season of the year. We opened to co-ed in summer 2012 with just 4 teams, 40 more have joined since then. We attribute our growth to the volunteer managers that keep teams playing season to season, and we appreciate the feedback they provide us to make their tasks easier.
We don't force teams to play on days they can't play. However, due to holidays or division constraints, if we must schedule your game on a day your team doesn't play, we will inform you and do our best to accomodate your team's preferences.
We also understand that teams desire competitive, evenly matched games. We encourage interested teams to play a guest game to compare their skill level with teams in our current divisions. We respect division requests and don't promote or relegate teams without notice.
Our Teams Enjoy:
- 10 officiated 90-minute games per season
- Professional Refs/Ref feedback
- Saturday Skills Clinic & Scrimmage
- Fun & Social Minded League Management
- Volunteer Opportunities with Youth Soccer
- Schedules uploaded to your Team Cowboy page
